Lenovo Thinkpad W510
Mark: Average (This report is prepared by ecomstation.ru scout), source of information: Andy Willis
Model: 4389-BF7 (4389BF7)
eCS 2.1 works on W510
Message 1:
Currently have the chance to test eCS on a Thinkpad W510.
All in all it is working well.
It has an I7 processor, 4 cores and 4 HT for a total of 8 processors being seen.
16G of memory, of course only 3G (3002M) is being seen by OS/2 ).
Intel ethernet connection is working.
Nvidia video is not speedy but to too slow either but lack of ability
to create a wide screen activator for it leaves a bit to be desired.
I haven't been able to get AHCI to read the drives in SATA mode so
having to run in compatibility mode.
Only one USB port works as the other two are USB 3.0.
Not surprisingly Resume is not ready on it but it is able
to stop the seven processors not in use and can keep the
machine cool when not being used (in conjunction with throttling).
Due to the CPU being used for graphics, even moving the mouse stops
power managment with default settings and it will warm up.
Message 2:
Video was slow but basically usable,
I had Hyerthreading on so eCS saw 8 processors.
I had to use danis driver as the ahci driver was not working.
Yes, and the fact that it is NViDIA it has bad resolution,
usable but needs wide screen activator
