Recent versions of OS/2 use the Logical Volume Manager (LVM), a powerful replacement for FDISK. The functionality of LVM is contained in LVM.DLL, a.k.a. the 'LVM Engine'. This toolkit makes that engine available for any application developer to use as a public API. This makes it possible to write (for instance) a completely new user interface for LVM.
